National Bureau of Statistics of China announced the consumer price index of August last tuesday. Pork prices rose closed to 50%. This triggered the concern of pork shortage in the biggest pork consumption country.


People in china already are feeling pressures from the rapidly increasing pork prices. The concern of inflation is also on the rise. According to records, on average chinese people consume 700 million pigs a year. Pork takes up to 60% of the meat consumption in Chinese diet. National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that meat prices in China rose 30.9% in auAust, while pork rose 46.7%. Consumer price index rose 1.08%.
